Thank you to all that are joining the 20 by '10 group. I am really excited to start this and can't wait to see where we all are on 01/01/10. I am thinking that this would be a great place for us to share successes and struggles, encourage others, trade great recipes, and let others know what exercises work.
My personal goals are to lose 20 pounds by New Years Day, be in better shape, be a better eater, and get rid of bad habits and sabotaging behavior. I have been doing WW since October '08 and would really like to be within goal for 2010. I have recently hit the 50 lb. loss milestone and needed to have a new goal to motivate me to keep losing. So I thought, instead of making a New Years Resolution in January, I would make a News Year Goal. That way, when I ring in the New Year, I have a real reason to celebrate.
Thank you to all that wil be joining me in this 16 week adventure, and I hope that it brings us all much success and satisfaction.

Jessica - I know it's hard with schedules and everything, and I surely am inconsistent myself in terms of planning around Keith's schedule, but maybe one day a week we all can meet up somewhere and exercise together. Maybe an early Sat. morning. There's that track around the ball fields at Womble, or running/walking at the high school (not sure if they have a track). That could be a once-a-week motivational meet-up. I could do an early Sat. morning, say 6:30 a.m. What do you think?
ReplyDeleteI will be glad to work out with you, Kristen. Lee & I walk at night and would be glad to visit your neighborhood sometime. Tonight I am making Spicy Black Bean Soup. Very yummy but not little kid friendly. Here is the recipe.
ReplyDelete1 onion, diced
4 garlic cloves, minced
3 (15 1/2 oz) cans black beans, undrained
1 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp crushed red pepper
1 (14 1/2 oz) can veg. broth
1 (14 1/2 oz) can diced tomatoes with green chilis
1 (11 oz) can sweet corn, drained
Spray dutch oven with cooking spray, put on med-high heat. Cook onion and garlic 5 min.
Put onion mixture, 2 cans black beans and spices in blender and pulse until smooth; return to dutch oven. Add can of black beans, broth, tomatoes, and corn to dutch oven; bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, until slightly thickened, 20-25 minutes.
1 1/2 cups = 3 points
This recipe can be made earlier in the day and reheated at dinner time.
Good luck.
Jess
I'm back on the ww wagon. So I'm in for the challenge. I need to lose 35 lbs so 20lbs would be a great start. Thanks for the soup recipe I'll try it next week.
ReplyDeleteAimee
So today week 1 of my second attempt at ww is done and I lost 4 lbs. Sure some of that is probably just fluid but I'll take it :)
ReplyDeleteGreat job Aimee. That will sure keep you motivated. I am facing some challenges this week, but they are temporary. Emma is sick today, so we are all home for the day. Fever and throwing up - yuck. This weather doesn't help either - no walking at night in the rain. I just need to try that much harder.
